Message:
stayed home and "manned the phones," or whatever you expected him to
do instead (while Putin himself was at the games), you and your same
liberal kool-aid drinking friends would have lambasted him for
snubbing the Olympics, China, and all of our athletes over something
he had no control of anyway. In other words, no matter what Bush does
or doesn't do...you're going to find something to criticize him for.
BTW, because both Bush and Putin were at the games in person, Bush met
with him privately in person (reports stated he demanded such a
meeting). Word is Bush ripped Putin during their private meeting in
China, and ordered him to remove his troops. Just a few days later,
Putin called for removing the troops. So, thanks to the Olympics,
Bush was able to meet with Putin in person right away, which very well
might have saved more lives and destruction.
Yet again you would have preferred that Bush suddenly stay home and
simply call Putin in China. Sounds like a great foreign policy move
to me. Madeline Albright would have loved it.
